Today [3/1/14] is one of the highest tides of the year, coupled to a gale 8 wind forecast, it was worth getting up [reasonably] early for!
Its seems that Mother Nature has looked kindly upon us though as the winds seemed to ease as the tide reached it’s peak.
It was howling and lashing down at around 5am, but by 7 it had all but gone – only to be on the increase again now – I think we got away with it this morning.
The EA were standing by and only a few early risers with camera were about.
Most of the harbour pavements were under water but the flood defences seemed to be working well…
